Gorilla Socks was born in Naples in 2017 with the aim of transforming a garment of common and daily use, such as socks, into something that is not only trendy but that uses new natural fibers that respect the environment. Andrea Salvia and Tommaso Colella, have chosen bamboo fiber for this purpose: comfortable, resistant and breathable, thus creating brightly colored socks suitable for every occasion of use. Gorilla Socks proposes itself as an actor in the fight against environmental unsustainability in the world of industry textile offering a natural and sustainable fiber. Specifically, bamboo has exceptional properties and is particularly appreciated by those who care about the environment. It is a fast growing plant, up to one meter per day, and it grows without human help. The harvest takes place approximately every 3-4 years, avoiding the devastating processes of deforestation. The cultivation of bamboo has a very low environmental impact, in fact it consumes 1/3 of the water of most crops and very often only needs rainwater with minimal carbon dioxide emissions and emitting a large amount of oxygen. the result is a yarn that makes Gorilla Socks products shiny, soft, antibacterial, resistant, breathable, absorbent and protective of UV rays.
